Philz Coffee opens location in Claremont Village
On Nov. 13, Philz Coffee officially opened in Claremont Village on West Bonita Avenue, following a Soft Launch Community Opening the day before. Known for specialty drinks like Mint Mojito and seasonal offerings, the café features vibrant murals, cozy seating, and a coffee bar.
Claremont Village’s Nosy Neighbors relocates to Yale Avenue
Nosy Neighbors Coffee & Donuts, a popular café in Claremont Village known for its signature orange ambiance and freshly fried donuts, has recently moved to a larger space on Yale Avenue. Previously located in a cozy, 180 square-foot location on Harvard Avenue, the move was motivated by high customer demand and the need for more indoor seating, according to owner Keith Strenger.

Since 1974, the Motley Coffeehouse has served as a beloved institution on the Scripps College campus. On Sept. 21, 5C students with long leather jackets, sleek black sunglasses and slicked back hairstyles gathered for an evening of ambient green lighting, live music and colorful drink options at the coffeehouse’s annual opening party, “The Motrix.”

Scripps’ student-run and beloved Motley Coffeehouse to reopen April 1
Freshly brewed coffee, cozy events and barista-favorite playlists will return April 1 as the Motley Coffeehouse opens its doors after a two-year hiatus. The student-run space and café at Scripps College’s Seal Court closed in 2020 due to COVID-19 and has not reopened since.
ASPC considers handing over Coop Fountain to college dining services
