A queer-inclusive twist on the traditional kegger, the “Quegger” is a party that has been on the social scene in one form or another since 2017, but has been revitalized this semester. Since last month, two Queggers have been hosted in Scripps’s Schow Courtyard, the most recent occurring last Saturday, March 8.

OPINION: ‘Yakking’ isn’t a canon event, party responsibly
Whirring sirens and blaring lights have marked the end of what should have been a fun night for many, and a culture of overconsumption has become commonplace, a cannon event for many students at the 5C’s. “Brat” culture has hit the Claremont colleges. Scripps kicked off the semester with the first-ever 5C Brat Rave, celebrating Charli XCX’s album “brat” with neon lights, bubbles, and beats. “Brat” has transcended music and evolved into a lifestyle, representing bold self-expression, rebellion, and a carefree attitude. Brat has influenced campus parties, dorm decor, and even social dynamics, encouraging students to embrace their messy and authentic selves.

Since 1974, the Motley Coffeehouse has served as a beloved institution on the Scripps College campus.
