The Athenas tamed the Tigers with back-to-back victories, beating Occidental 3-1 on the road last week before taking them down 1-0 at home on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) women’s soccer is now ranked No. 3 in SCIAC, behind No. 1 ranked rivals Pomona-Pitzer (P-P).
P-P cross country shows out at home invitational after pre-nationals win
After flying to top finishes at the NCAA Division III Pre-Nationals, the Hens returned to the nest for the annual Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) Cross Country Invite on Saturday, Oct. 20. The men’s team placed first in the 8K and the women’s team placed second in the 6K behind rivals Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS).

Some might say that the best part of the Claremont consortium is making friends across the five schools. Wrong. It’s saying goodbye to these friends once a semester and showing up to the biggest athletic event of the year: Rivalry Weekend. Any good team needs a strong defense and Patricia DePalma PO ‘27 is the backbone of the Sagehens’ shutout-quality defense this year. The goalkeeper of the nest is on fire this season with 17 saves and six shutouts in eight games. She is looking forward to the team’s growth as the season progresses.

The Athenas beat St. Catherine University with a 5-0 embarrassment of the Regal’s women soccer team. On Friday, Sept. 13 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps opened their season with a divine performance by the whole team with five different players scoring in the battle.
Sagehens women’s water polo three-peats as national champions to cap off weekend of P-P dominance over CMS
Finals season started early for athletes at the Claremont Colleges as the Sagehens and Athenas looked to make the grade in a trio of championship showdowns on Sixth Street. Ultimately, it was straight A’s for the Hens on the semester, sending the Athenas home with no credit and no titles.
Senior night showdown: Sagehens Women’s Water Polo make a splash against Athenas in potential SCIAC final preview
After a nail biting first half, the Sagehens came back in true feathery form, securing the Sixth Street victory on their senior night with a final score of 12-5 on Saturday, April 20. Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) women’s water polo cemented their No. 1 SCIAC ranking with their win against the Athenas, going into the postseason with a perfect 12-0 record.
