On Saturday, April 18, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) women’s water polo dethroned Pomona-Pitzer’s 20-year reign as SCIAC Champions. Despite P-P’s wins on Feb 25 and April 8, CMS cements its historic season in triumph after beating P-P for the first time in 20 years in January and holding strong for a 14-10 win in this SCIAC Championship game.

Sagehens water polo avenges January loss, wins second of three Sixth Street matches
On Wednesday, Feb. 25th, Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) women’s water polo battled in the most recent iteration of the Sixth Street Rivalry. CMS’s win in the prior matchup marked their first in 14 years over the Sagehens.

Finals season started early for athletes at the Claremont Colleges as the Sagehens and Athenas looked to make the grade in a trio of championship showdowns on Sixth Street. Ultimately, it was straight A’s for the Hens on the semester, sending the Athenas home with no credit and no titles.
