Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) track and field runner Kirk Lord PZ ’28 was adorned with the CALHope Courage Award on Jan. 12, and received $1,000 to his nonprofit National PANDAS/PANS Youth Alliance. Lord, diagnosed with PANDAS in the second grade, will use the publicity and funding to continue his advocacy work surrounding the autoimmune disease.

P-P men’s and CMS women’s cross-country secure SCIAC championship
On Saturday, Nov. 1, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) and Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) cross-country teams both secured victories at the SCIAC Championships, hosted in their own backyard of Claremont, California. The P-P men’s and CMS women’s teams took first in their division, while the P-P women’s and CMS men’s teams trailed closely in second; displaying Claremont’s dominance in the conference.
Jack Stein PO ’26 etches his name into Pomona-Pitzer history books as he breaks cross-country program record
It’s not every day that you see someone rewrite Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) cross country history, given the program’s lengthy history of laudable accomplishments—but Jack Stein PO ’26 just did so in 23 minutes and 45 seconds. At the UC Riverside Invitational on Sept. 27, Stein set a P-P cross country program record of 23:45.4, which, for reference, converts to an average pace per mile of around 4:47. For Stein, setting the record was a special moment in his illustrious career thus far.
P-P cross country shows out at home invitational after pre-nationals win
After flying to top finishes at the NCAA Division III Pre-Nationals, the Hens returned to the nest for the annual Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) Cross Country Invite on Saturday, Oct. 20. The men’s team placed first in the 8K and the women’s team placed second in the 6K behind rivals Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS).
