The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s water polo team lost the SCIAC title, but will compete in the first ever USA Water Polo Division III National Championship.
The No. 19 P-P men’s water polo team (16-9, 7-2 SCIAC) traveled to Cambridge, Massachusetts over Fall Break for the Harvard Invitational, where the Sagehens fell 10-6 to Brown before nearly out-dueling Harvard in a wild 17-16 overtime loss.
The 5C men’s water polo teams emerged from a hectic weekend of tournament play with a pair of big victories and two disappointing defeats apiece.
The Sagehen men’s team (5-2, 2-1 SCIAC) had a strong showing Saturday, leaving Cal Lu with a 9-6 victory. Wednesday’s game against Whittier proved less fortunate, ending P-P’s astounding 29-game SCIAC win streak with a 9-3 loss.
