On Saturday, March 7, the Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) women’s lacrosse teams met in a game that saw the Sagehens clinch their 15th straight Sixth Street Rivalry win. The Sagehens rallied from a late third-quarter deficit to score four straight in the 10-8 victory. Shelby Stanton PO ’26 was named SCIAC Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts.

Jack Gold and Alex Henderson slug their way to All-American status
D3Baseball.com named both Jack Gold PO ’27 and Alex Henderson CM ’27 to its preseason All-American Team. The two stars helped lead their respective teams to their NCAA Regional tournaments last year, with Henderson and the Stags reaching the NCAA Super Regionals. For the junior duo, the inevitable failure of baseball brings the charm.
Behind the scenes: The Pomona-Pitzer student athletic trainers powering Sagehen football forward
Behind the 90-person Pomona-Pitzer football team, which practices daily and competes weekly, are the student athletic training staff who work behind the scenes to ensure the season runs smoothly for the players. The full-time football athletic trainer (AT), Lane Fishburn, currently employs three student ATs to help her with operations.

The Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) Sagehens flocked to Merritt field on Wednesday, March 5, for a rainy rivalry game against the Athenas, taking a 12 to 11 overtime victory thanks to Chloe Denhart PO ’27 and a persistent defensive performance.

On Saturday, March 1, Sixth Street rivals Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) and Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) took on the first SCIAC Quad Cup Qualifier, with both teams achieving strong results. CMS won the event in dominant fashion, doubling the points of P-P, who finished second.
