Rankine’s writing often touches on the intimate fault lines of American politics and social injustices. Her newest work brings attention to climate change, racism and the grief she feels for it. For many 5C students, who are growing up in an era marked by climate catastrophe and political restriction, this idea felt exceptionally pertinent.
