On Saturday, Nov. 16, Dede Carranza CM ’25 tied a Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) record, reaching 2,121 career digs in a tight SCIAC final loss to La Verne. Entering the tournament as the No. 1 ranked team in SCIAC after beating Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) in the semi-finals, the Athenas succumbed to the No. 2 Leopards in three sets.

The Sagehens volleyball celebrated both their graduating players and a monumental win on Friday, Nov. 8, besting heavily favored Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. With both teams having already secured SCIAC tournament spots, the Sagehens handed the Athenas their second loss of the season in a nail-biting five-set thriller.

On Saturday, Oct. 19, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) football took down La Verne in a 57-14 rout. Coming off of a 41-13 loss to Chapman, the Stags rebounded with a 43-point score differential against the Leopards, improving their record to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in SCAIC.

The women’s soccer team kept their 10 game winning streak over the Athenas alive for yet another Sixth-Street beatdown. Ella Endo PO ’25 and Hannah Hong PO ’26 led the hens in scoring with a goal apiece in the biggest rivalry game of their season.

Tensions were high at Pritzlaff Field on Saturday, Oct. 5 when Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) faced off against Pomona Pitzer (P-P) men’s soccer. Midfielder Rafael Otero CM ’25 put the Stags on the board with a penalty kick, giving CMS the 1-0 Sixth Street win over the Sagehens.

The claws of the Leopards were no match for the Athenas’ armor, as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) women’s water polo showcased their impenetrable defense against La Verne in a decisive 17-5 victory on Wednesday, April 3 at Axelrood Pool. The Athenas are ranked second in the SCIAC, chasing their Sagehen rivals for the conference title as the regular season draws to a close.
