The Pomona-Pitzer men’s water polo team (20-10, 10-3 SCIAC) went 1-1 on Nov. 9, soundly beating La Verne but coming up two goals short to Whittier. The Sagehens now sit second in the SCIAC, behind the Poets. On Wednesday, the Sagehens pulled out the win in a 10-9 overtime match again their Sixth Street rivals. Both teams were neck-and-neck throughout both overtime periods, forcing the game into two sudden-death periods, with the Hens and Stags deadlocked at 9-9. Twenty seconds into the second sudden-death round, Dylan Elliott PO ’21 found the back of the net off an assist from Zach Senator PO ’20, winning the game for the Sagehens.
