Know your worth: What the 5Cs bring to the local economy

Claremont has long been synonymous with higher education. As the “city of trees and PhDs,” the tiny town on the border of Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire has been influenced by the colleges that have called it home since their founding in 1887.

After flying to top finishes at the NCAA Division III Pre-Nationals, the Hens returned to the nest for the annual Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) Cross Country Invite on Saturday, Oct. 20. We all love the Sixth Street games — standing in the rain for the first quarter of P-P vs CMS football was a core first year memory for me. But sometimes I miss the allure of real stadium lights, the camaraderie with people you’ve never met, and the intense fandom of professional sports. Watching highlights of Colorado Rapids games (because who actually has an MLS-Apple TV package) from my dorm just doesn’t really cut it. When LA is so close, why not hop in someone’s car to make the trip and see your team? In my opinion, it’s the best way to spend time with friends and make new ones.

Stags stomp Bulldogs on day two of series, come one step closer to playoffs

Stags baseball sent the Redland Bulldogs to the pound with a 9-6 morning win and a 13-3 mercy rule victory in the afternoon on Saturday, April 13. After falling behind in game one of their series Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) came back in a big way thanks to a strong performance on the mound from Aaron Herst CM ’26 and big hits up and down the lineup.
