Dan Koeppel, or “Dan the Banana Man,” discussed the history and future of the banana industry at the Athenaeum on Feb. 12. Koeppel is the author of numerous books, including “Banana: The Fate of the Fruit that Changed the World” (2008), and describes himself as having the world’s broadest knowledge of bananas.

For most teams, the finish line is the end of the race. However, this fall for the Pomona-Pitzer men’s cross country team, there is more at stake than the podium. In support of Pomona dining hall workers in their ongoing negotiations with the administration, the P-P cross country team is wearing pins and T-shirts to spread awareness.
