For most teams, the finish line is the end of the race. However, this fall for the Pomona-Pitzer men’s cross country team, there is more at stake than the podium. In support of Pomona dining hall workers in their ongoing negotiations with the administration, the P-P cross country team is wearing pins and T-shirts to spread awareness.
On Thursday evening, Pomona College dining hall staff voted to authorize a strike, meaning that the committee of workers which represents staff during contract negotiations may decide to mobilize, although no official plan to strike has been released.
After Tuesday’s contract negotiation meeting between Pomona College administration and the college’s dining hall union, workers told TSL they are willing to hold a strike vote if the next negotiation meeting does not result in an agreement.
