On March 21, Sagehen Baseball traveled to LoanMart Field in Rancho Cucamonga to take on the Quakes, the Single-A Minor League affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. The exhibition match-up featured each team’s pitchers throwing to their own batters with the opposing fielders playing defense. Despite the odd circumstances, the Sagehens reveled in the opportunity to be treated like professionals for the day.

New starters, new season, same success: P-P baseball season opener
On Saturday, Feb. 8, the Sagehens, currently eighth in Division III rankings, declawed the No. 10 East Texas Baptist University Tigers 2-1 on Alumni Field to open their season. After a rainout on Friday afternoon, the Sagehens took the field behind pitchers Max Brunngraber PZ ’27 and Will Polishuk PO ’28 for their first collegiate starts.
Sagehens baseball back in the nest after World Series and preparing for season opener
The Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) baseball team enters this season as the No. 8 team in the nation after taking their first trip to the College World Series in program history. They reenter the field with a strong returning cast of upperclassmen and exciting young talent. The Sagehens won’t be the underdogs this year in their pursuit of another deep playoff run.
