It’s officially berry season, and the Sagehens are picking. In his second season as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) baseball team, Cooper Berry PZ ’27 has risen to stardom. After not playing and battling injuries for much of his first season, Berry turned on the heat and has now become a pillar of a strong Sagehen lineup.

On Saturday, Feb. 8, the Sagehens, currently eighth in Division III rankings, declawed the No. 10 East Texas Baptist University Tigers 2-1 on Alumni Field to open their season. After a rainout on Friday afternoon, the Sagehens took the field behind pitchers Max Brunngraber PZ ’27 and Will Polishuk PO ’28 for their first collegiate starts.

Sagehens baseball give Whitman Blues the weepies in 2-1 series whopping

P-P men’s baseball beat down the Whitman Blues with a 2-1 game count, closing up the last series of the Hen’s preseason. The Sagehens relied on hot bats in the first two games, earning a cumulative 13 runs in the first game combined with a pair of shutouts but faltered in the final game of the series.
