Pomona, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer require post-break COVID-19 testing; Scripps institutes random testing

As 5C students made a return to Claremont following fall break, some colleges also brought back temporary COVID-19 testing requirements. Students at Pomona College, Harvey Mudd College and Pitzer College are required to test for COVID-19 upon returning from fall break, according to emails from both colleges.

Nueva línea de autobús aumenta conveniencia, molesta a otros

El 25 de septiembre, Foothill Transit, una de las agencias de transporte público sirviendo a Claremont, modificó la ruta 188 para seguir el Claremont Boulevard en vez de Indian Hill Boulevard, mejorando el servicio a los Claremont Colleges, pero aumentando el tiempo que toma el autobús en terminar la ruta.

Climate strike rally encourages 5Cs to ‘Speak Out’

Honnold Mudd Library staff voting on unionization

Staff at the 7Cs’ Honnold Mudd Library are deciding by secret ballot whether to form a union after at least 30 percent of approximately 40 eligible employees expressed interest. The California Federation of Teachers filed a petition with the National Labor Relations Board filed a petition to represent the staff, according to a Feb. 9 statement from The Claremont Colleges Services (TCCS).

Before Inside-Out and PAYS, Danny Wilks PO ’71 brought activism into the community

Teaching partnerships between incarcerated people in California and the 5Cs might seem like a recent development. But in the late 1960s, student members of Pomona College’s Black Studies Center developed an educational program for prisoners in Chino, led by BSU founder Danny Wilks PO ’71.
