Stags baseball sent the Redland Bulldogs to the pound with a 9-6 morning win and a 13-3 mercy rule victory in the afternoon on Saturday, April 13. After falling behind in game one of their series Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) came back in a big way thanks to a strong performance on the mound from Aaron Herst CM ’26 and big hits up and down the lineup.

Senior Day Thrashing: Athenas Stomp Bulldogs 24-1
The Athenas carried out a war of attrition against Redlands on their senior night, dominating through all four quarters and defeating the Bulldogs 24-1 on Saturday, April 13 at Pritzlaff field. The Athenas are ranked second in the SCIAC, chasing their Sagehen rivals for the conference title as the regular season draws to a close.
All-star, three-point leader and a peach; Josh Angle leaves a giant impact on CMS basketball history
Josh Angle CG’ 24 finally says goodbye to the court that he called home for over five years. His footprint; 3003 minutes of magic,1647 points, 237 made 3’s and the second all star selection in Stag’s history. Angle was a holistic team player and talented student over his CMC and CGU tenure, helping the team rally and push into the third round NCAA bracket for the first time in program history.
“When I thought about places to do it, there was of course potential intrigue of going in the transfer portal and doing all these different things but when I really considered what that would look like I didn’t think I would find a place where I would have a better experience between knowing the coaches, having so many good friends on the team and being in Claremont,” Angle said.

CMS women’s water polo can’t drown out USC but come away with 3-1 record at Claremont Convergence
The Athenas waged an underwater war against DI and DII foes at the Claremont Convergence Tournament on Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) women’s water polo fought valiantly and came away with three wins at Axelrood pool, but fell to the USC Trojans 18-4.

CMS stags basketball trample over the Sagehens’ hope of a postseason berth in a packed one shot game. The Stags earned a second half comeback by executing their game with great exigence and energy, and rode the momentum to a SCIAC league title, defeating California Lutheran in finals.
“We just studied the game plan and stayed aggressive and we just tried to attack them…we just tried to turn that up in the 2nd half and just continuing to take it play by play, we knew it was going to be a grind out game.” said Caelan Jones CGU ‘25.
