On Saturday, Nov. 16, Dede Carranza CM ’25 tied a Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) record, reaching 2,121 career digs in a tight SCIAC final loss to La Verne. Entering the tournament as the No. 1 ranked team in SCIAC after beating Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) in the semi-finals, the Athenas succumbed to the No. 2 Leopards in three sets.

The Sagehens volleyball celebrated both their graduating players and a monumental win on Friday, Nov. 8, besting heavily favored Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Garnering high praise from coaches and teammates alike, diver Tommy Matheis PO ’28 has proved to be a standout on the P-P swim and dive team. Winning back-to-back SCIAC Athlete of the Week accolades, Matheis broke the previous 3-meter record of 383.85 points with a whopping 391.28 points on Saturday, Nov. 2 during a victorious meet against Cal Lutheran.

The Athenas took care of business on the volleyball court on Saturday, Nov. 2 with a dominant sweep of the Redlands Bulldogs. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS), who secured the SCAIC title with this win, led Redlands in all statistics in this game, crushing any chance of an upset.

It’s going pear-fectly! The self-dubbed “Pears,” the Claremont Colleges Men’s Soccer Club, have had a strong start to the season, winning one game and drawing the other against tough opposition. Currently sitting third place in their division, the “Pears” are seeking to win the league, something which would grant them automatic access to the Aztec Cup.
