Jack Stein PO ’26 etches his name into Pomona-Pitzer history books as he breaks cross-country program record
It’s not every day that you see someone rewrite Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) cross country history, given the program’s lengthy history of laudable accomplishments—but Jack Stein PO ’26 just did so in 23 minutes and 45 seconds. At the UC Riverside Invitational on Sept. 27, Stein set a P-P cross country program record of 23:45.4, which, for reference, converts to an average pace per mile of around 4:47. For Stein, setting the record was a special moment in his illustrious career thus far.
P-P men’s soccer defeat CMS 2-1 to continue strong start to season
In the annual installation of the Sixth Street Rivalry game, Sagehens soccer came away with a nail-biting 2-1 victory over the Stags, with the winning goal scored in the 79th minute by Sebastian Lee Jara PO ’29. The spirit of competition was palpable throughout the game, and the teams tallied a total of five yellow cards and 18 fouls at the final whistle.

They say that the early bird gets the worm, but for the Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) football team, the early Sagehen gets the Bearcat. With a dominant 41-17 victory over the Willamette Bearcats in the first game of the season, the defending SCIAC champions are off to a successful start in their hunt for a repeat title. With multiple key players graduating, the team is working hard to bulk up its young Hens.

Vivian Rojas Collins’ PO ’27 free-kick goal from 40 yards away against Cal Lutheran pushed the Pomona-Pitzer women’s soccer team to 10 goals and their fifth straight win this season. The Hens look to maintain their early undefeated record and kick past the four consecutive second-round losses that have haunted them in the NCAA playoffs.
Sagehens steal series from Stags en route to conference playoffs
On the heels of last year’s college world series appearance, Sagehens baseball got a much-needed sixth Street win over the Stags in a 2-1 series victory at home on April 12. Despite a somewhat disappointing follow-up to last year’s success, the Sagehens are still just one game back of the third-seeded Stags in the SCIAC.

On Saturday, March 1, Sixth Street rivals Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) and Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) took on the first SCIAC Quad Cup Qualifier, with both teams achieving strong results. CMS won the event in dominant fashion, doubling the points of P-P, who finished second.
