After the Sagehens and the Stags split the SCIAC title in 2022, the implementation of a conference championship game in 2023 has both teams ready for an undisputed Claremont champion. Next year, CMS and P-P will compete in the new format for SCIAC football. They will be in different pods composed of three SCIAC teams each and both CMS and P-P are hopeful of finishing on top of their respective groups to face each other in the championship game for the chance, once again, to compete with their sixth-street rivals for a bid to the NCAA DIII playoffs.
