The 5C circus club is not as in-tents as people might think. Though the sport itself requires skill, practice and strength, the Five Circus provides a space for students to learn in a welcoming and supportive environment. They practice multiple times a week and have occasional performances.
The 2019 International Autumn Gala, hosted by the International Place of the Claremont Colleges on Oct. 26, showcased international student talent with acts like a traditional Japanese taiko drumming performance, an Armenian Tsaghkadzori folk dance and an Argentinian tango.
Clowning around has taken on a new meaning for students in the Claremont Colleges’ circus club. 5Circus, a 5C-wide circus skills club, touts comprehensive lessons in aerial silks, juggling, balancing discs and gymnastics every Saturday afternoon in Roberts Pavilion. The club was founded in fall 2014 by Jack Gomberg PO
