The two club soccer teams in Claremont are back for another year and they’re better than ever. The Claremont Pears, the 5C men’s soccer club, faced off against Cal State Channel Islands on Nov. 9, and Claremont FC, the 5C women’s soccer club, played Cal Poly Pomona later that day. This is the second game of the season for the Pears, and they defeated the Dolphins 10-0 in a dominant showing of the new roster.

Jack Stein PO ’26 etches his name into Pomona-Pitzer history books as he breaks cross-country program record

It’s not every day that you see someone rewrite Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) cross country history, given the program’s lengthy history of laudable accomplishments—but Jack Stein PO ’26 just did so in 23 minutes and 45 seconds. At the UC Riverside Invitational on Sept. 27, Stein set a P-P cross country program record of 23:45.4, which, for reference, converts to an average pace per mile of around 4:47. For Stein, setting the record was a special moment in his illustrious career thus far.

Sagehens football lose 3-21 in home opener against Lewis and Clark

On Sept. 20, the Pomona-Pitzer football team lost its home opener against the Lewis and Clark College Pioneers 3-21, marking its first defeat of the season.
