RECAP: Three big wins over conference opponents thrusts P-P women’s water polo atop SCIAC

The Sagehen women’s water polo team (9-8, 5-0 SCIAC) picked up three big SCIAC wins last week. After beating Whittier (6-4, 2-1 SCIAC) on the road 8-5 Saturday, the Sagehens beat Chapman (5-7, 1-2 SCIAC) 17-5 at home Tuesday and then downed Cal Lutheran (10-7, 4-1 SCIAC) 12-7 on the road Thursday.

Anna Yu PO ’19 had a hat-trick in the win over Chapman, and Natalie Hill PO ’19 added two goals and four assists.

The game against CalLu was a matchup of the top two teams in the SCIAC. P-P gained sole possession of first place with the win, and now stands as the only team undefeated in conference play. Janelle Lewis PO ’19 had two goals and a game-high five steals in the win.
