RECAP: P-P track has strong early season performances at Oxy Distance Carnival

The P-P track and field team had a successful weekend at the Occidental Distance Carnival Spring Break Classic, as the men’s side put up two nationally ranked times and the women had four performances good for top-10 in program history.

In the men’s 5000-meter, Andy Reischling PO ’19 finished in 14:24.40, the second-best time in Division III this season and good for sixth in the race, which consisted of athletes from all three divisions. Owen Woo PZ ’21 finished 19th, eighth all-time in program history with a time of 14:43.52.

Rosie Linkus PO ’22 posted the ninth-best time in P-P history in the 800-meter, finishing seventh overall in 2:18.34, and Micaiah Palmer PO ’19 jumped 17-feet-4.75-inches in the long jump, good for seventh overall in the event and sixth best in program history.

Vicky-Marie Addo-Ashong PO ’20 and Sophie Richards PO ’20 finished second and fourth in the women’s 100-meter hurdles, with times of 15.25 and 15.55, respectively.
