Recap: P-P men’s basketball extends win streak, perfect SCIAC season with win over Chapman

Daniel Rosenbaum PO ’19 led the Sagehens in both points (26) and rebounds (6) as they took down Chapman 89-69 Saturday, continuing a perfect SCIAC season and extending their winning streak to 16 games. The team (20-1, 12-0 SCIAC) shot 59.6 percent from the field with only one turnover in the second half.

Adam Rees PO ’20 and Micah Elan PZ ’20 added 17 and 15 points, respectively; Elan also led the team with six assists.

The Sagehens got off to a slow start, only scoring nine points in the first nine minutes of play, giving Chapman a 25-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. Pomona-Pitzer went on a 16-4 run, ending first half down just 39-38, then came roaring back in the second half to lead the game 76-55 with just under five minutes remaining, and never looked back.

 

The Sagehens host Cal Lutheran this Saturday.
