RECAP: CMS swim and dive sets conference records but falls to P-P in SCIAC Championship

Mia Syme Dominates 1650 on Final Day of SCIAC Championships, Athenas Finish Close Second

Both the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s and women’s swim and dive teams fell to Pomona-Pitzer at the 2019 SCIAC Championships last weekend. The Stags (11-6, 7-2 SCIAC) lost 1114.5 to 1071.5. and the Athenas (11-5, 8-1 SCIAC) lost 1125.5 to 984.5.

Despite the loss, there were many bright spots for CMS. Among them, SCIAC record-breaking performances by Augusta Lewis CM ’22 in the 200-yard and 400-yard individual medleys, as well as by Mia Syme CM ’21 in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Marco Conati HM ’21 was also a multi-event winner for the Stags.
