RECAP: Athenas tennis reaches final of ITA Indoor Nationals, takes season-first loss to Emory

The Athenas (7-1, 2-0 SCIAC) kicked off the ITA Indoor Nationals March 1 with a dominant 9-0 performance against WashU St. Louis. They continued their winning ways through semifinals, defeating UChicago 5-3 to reach the finals.

Then No. 1-ranked CMS women took their first loss of the year to No. 2 Emory, which won the final 5-3. The team fell behind 2-1 in doubles, and despite strong performances from Caroline Cox CM ‘20, Catherine Allen SC ’20 and Rebecca Berger CM ’20, was unable to fight its way out of the deficit.
