Both the CMS men’s and women’s track teams fell to Redlands but defeated La Verne in the first SCIAC Multi-Dual of the season last weekend. The Stags lost by just seven points (85-78) while the Athenas fell 100-63.

Despite the loss, the Athenas, led by Abigail Johnson SC ’21, were dominant in the 1500, taking the top eight spots in the event. Amanda Mell CM ’20 and Amanda Gallop SC ’20 also picked up wins in the triple jump and javelin throw, respectively.

The Stags won a number of events, but the loss came down to Redlands runner Tucker Cargile, who beat out CMS’ Keizo Morgan HM ’22 and Miles Christensen HM ’22 by less than a half-second in the 800 and 1500, respectively.
