Pomona College received a $25,000 grant from the Kenneth T. and Eileen L. Norris Foundation for the Summer Undergraduate Research Program, the college said in a press release Tuesday.
SURP, as the program is known, provides several dozen students with up to $4,000 for four to 10 weeks of research projects in the summer.
“The Norris grant comes at a critical time at the conclusion of three major research grants and a reduced college operating budget, as applications to SURP continue to grow,” the press release said.
The Long Beach, Calif.-based Norris Foundation funds community, arts, health, and educational organizations.
