Scripps administration faces calls to remove sculpture with Nazi affiliations

Scripps Associated Students (SAS) is petitioning for the removal of a Georg Kolbe statue in Scripps College’s Sallie Tiernan Field House (TFH) due to the artist’s Nazi ties. During World War II, Kolbe was included on the Gottbegnadeten list, which named Germany’s “top artists” representing Aryan ideals.
