In this iteration of the Sixth Street Rivalry, the Athenas (16-0 (8-0 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) handly beat the Sagehens (8-9 (4-5 SCIAC)) 3-0. Kerkhof had four kills in the win and has a 3.56 kills per set average and a 0.235 hitting percentage throughout the season. The Athenas are the number two nationally ranked team and are number one in SCIAC with an undefeated record, on pace to win the SCIAC regular season championships. The Sagehens, meanwhile, sit on the playoff bubble in the number five spot and are trying to contend with Occidental College for the last spot in the SCIAC tournament. Their first match against Occidental was a tough five set loss, with the Sagehens giving up a 2-0 set lead. Kelly, the first year outside hitter, is a bright spot for the Sagehens, having the highest kill percentage on the team at 0.239. The Sagehens have a tough road ahead to the playoffs, with some of their last matchups against top contenders Cal Lutheran, La Verne, and CMS.
