The P-P softball team (7-2-1, 4-2 SCIAC) took their first two losses of the year, losing both ends of Friday’s doubleheader against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (7-2, 6-0 SCIAC), 3-2 and 2-0.
A matchup of the top two teams in the SCIAC, the first game was deadlocked after seven and went to extra innings. After CMS tied the game at one in the bottom of the seventh, P-P took a 2-1 lead off an error in the top of the eighth. However, RBI singles in the bottom of the eighth and 10th innings gave the Athenas the win.
