It was a busy week for the No. 12 Sagehen men’s tennis team (3-2, 3-0 SCIAC). After splitting a doubleheader on the road Saturday, losing to Azusa Pacific (5-0) 8-1 and beating Occidental (0-2, 0-1 SCIAC) 7-2, P-P lost to Brandeis (2-0) at home on Tuesday, 5-4.

Despite the lopsided score, the Sagehens stuck with D-II opponent Azusa Pacific, sending two of the doubles matches to a tiebreaker. Octave Bellet PZ ’19 gave the team their only point with a 6-4, 6-0 win in No. 3 singles. Against Oxy, Bellet teamed with Josh Gearou PO ’19 to win No. 1 doubles and later won No. 1 singles as well. The Sagehens were up 2-1 after the doubles matches against Brandeis but dropped four of the singles matches to lose by one.
