RECAP: Despite trio of wins, P-P volleyball eliminated from postseason contention

The P-P volleyball team (12-12, 6-8 SCIAC), sitting at fifth in the conference standings, has been mathematically eliminated from postseason contention and will close out its season with games against Whittier and Chapman on Friday and Saturday. The Hens won three of the five games they played over the past two weeks, beating Occidental 3-0, Redlands 3-2 and La Verne 3-2. But it was too little, too late for P-P, which also lost to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 3-0 and Cal Lutheran 3-1. Vicky-Marie Addo-Ashong PO ’20 led the team with 12 kills in the win over Oxy, and Naomi Chen-Mallouk PO ’23 had 15 kills and two service aces against Redlands. Isabel Kelly PO ’20 (17 kills) and Addo-Ashong keyed a comeback for the Hens against La Verne.
