RECAP: Athena water polo ends season with loss to Pomona-Pitzer

The Athena water polo team (19-5, 7-7 SCIAC) lost its final game of the season 8-5 to Pomona-Pitzer (19-12, 14-0 SCIAC), and will not compete in the SCIAC tournament.

CMS attempted to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, pulling within two goals with just over two minutes left, but the Sagehens held on. Celia Aldrete CM ’20 and Alex Szymczak SC ’22 led CMS scorers with two goals apiece.
