I-Fest

With live music, dance, and authentic cuisine from 27 countries, the Claremont Colleges celebrated the 31st International Festival on Apr. 11. The North Quad at CMC filled early in the day with students and participants from I-Place, the colleges’ international organization. Booths represented individual countries with colorful banners and a variety of delicious food and drinks. “How do you know that’s what Bulgarian food is like?” asked a curious visitor hungry not only for food but also for knowledge. One key to the popularity of the Festival may be that many of the participants are natives of the countries they represent, and their enthusiasm inspired interest and support from the student community. — Savina Velkova
