Stags Drop Two of Three to Occidental

After rain delays pushed the series back, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team lost two of three games to the Occidental College Tigers on Sunday and Monday, March 2-3. In the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday, the Stags fell 5-2, but quickly rebounded to win the second game of the day 8-4. In the game, the Stags got production from up and down their lineup, as six different players had RBIs and four had multiple-hit performances, led by Michael Gose CM ’15 with three. The momentum did not carry over, however, and the Tigers took Monday’s rubber game 4-3 at home. The Stags are now 2-7 in the SCIAC and will face Chapman University in a three-game set this weekend starting today, March 7 at 2:30 p.m. on the road.
