RECAP: Sagehen lacrosse downs Chapman in SCIAC semifinal, setting up championship matchup with Athenas

The Sagehen women’s lacrosse team (13-5, 7-3 SCIAC) picked up a 17-12 win over Chapman (7-9, 4-6 SIAC) in the SCIAC semifinals Wednesday, setting up a rematch with rival CMS (15-2, 10-0 SCIAC) in the conference championship Saturday.

P-P came out quickly, building a 7-0 lead within the first six minutes, but Chapman came back to pull within 11-8 at halftime. The Panthers then pulled within two with 20 minutes remaining before P-P put up four straight goals to go up 16-10 and put the game out of reach.

Kiera Havill PZ ’21 led the team with four goals, while Sarah Woo PZ ’21 and Lilly Thomey PO ’19 each finished with hat tricks. Emily Vomvas PO ’22 and Annie Price PO ’20 split time in goal, finishing with seven and six saves, respectively.
