
Despite only leading by four points at the end of the third quarter, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s basketball team (19-2, 11-1 SCIAC) outscored Whittier 22-11 in the fourth to win 56-41 at home Saturday.
The Athenas shots 35.8 percent from the field, missing all five three-point attempts, and scored 18 points off Poet turnovers. Guard Maya Love CM ’20 led the team with a 14-point, 12-rebound night, while also adding four assists in her 34 minutes of play. Classmate Lindsey Cleary CM ’20 went 5-of-7 from the field in 27 minutes, and Kate Parrish CM ’21 led reserves with 7 points off the bench.
Having extended their current winning streak to 15 games, the Athenas will take on Caltech in Claremont Saturday.
