Pomona to fund students changing name and gender on legal documents
Pomona College’s Dean of Students Office will provide funds for students who wish to change their name and/or gender marker on legal documents, Dean of Students Avis Hinkson announced in an email to students March 7.
According to Hinkson, the Dean of Students Office has been working with the Queer Resource Center to learn how to support trans and non-binary students in legal situations. Pomona will provide funds to help students with application and document fees.
Students can request funding through the Engage portal.

ASCMC announces election results
ASCMC conducted elections March 7 for five leadership positions.
Dina Rosin CM ’20 was elected the new ASCMC president, Bryan Carlen CM ’20 was elected the new executive vice president, Chandler Koon CM ’20 was elected as the vice president of student activities, Andrea Amaya CM ’20 was elected as the dormitory affairs chair, Laleh Ahmad CM ’20 was elected as the senior class president and Johnson Lin CM ’21 was elected the junior class president, according to official ASCMC election results.
About 50 percent of the student body voted in the elections, according to ASCMC.
