CCLA Movie: Memento. In this smart thriller, Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce) is obsessed with pursuing vengeance for the rape and murder of his wife. The difficulty of his quest is compounded by his rare, untreatable form of memory loss. Rose Hills Theater, 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Pomona’s Spring Formal at Casablanca Bar and Grill at 500 W. 1st St. from 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. There will be a jazz band for the first hour and a DJ for the rest of the night. Enjoy free wine and cheese or bring your ID to buy fancy drinks at the bar. Tickets are $10 at the ASPC office. This event is open to Pomona students only.

Last chance to see the amazing photo exhibit by Ashwin Balakrishnan PO ‘09 in the SCC gallery room. Balakrishnan went on a 32-mile walk starting in the mountains, running down through cities in the Los Angeles area following a river, and eventually meeting the ocean.

Londa Schiebinger, John L. Hinds Professor of History of Science at Stanford University, will give a lecture entitled “Women in Development” on gendered innovations in science as part of the Phebe Estelle Spalding Lecture series. Rose Hills Theater, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
Thursday, April 23
Susana Chvez-Silverman, Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures, reads from two of her most recent books: “Killer Crnicas: Bilingual Memories” and scenes from the forthcoming “La Cuenca de L.A. y otros Natural Disasters.” 8 p.m. at Pomona’s Queer Resource Center.
